Who watches C=SPAN? You might be surprised at how many people do, and what interesting topics pop up there. It's not Netflix, but there are some real hidden treasures.
C-SPAN has Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) that cruise across the nation interviewing local historians, authors, and civic leaders. The result are features on the history and literary life of communities.
On their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in early August, 2015 they stopped at the Buffalo History Museum, where executive director Melissa Brown, gave an excellent run down on that little known president with deep Buffalo roots: Grover Cleveland.
The segment Grover Cleveland's Political Life in Buffalo describes his time as Sheriff of Erie County and how he became Mayor in 1882. In 1883, he was elected Governor of New York and subsequently became the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.
The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.
