Buffalo is a city that has a rich history of embracing art in public spaces. I recently had a chance to spend some time with Matthew Grote, who along with a few other local artists, is helping to preserve that tradition, while encouraging the community to embrace new ideas about street art.
Grote, also known as OGRE, is originally from Ohio but has been active in the Buffalo art scene for the past 3 years and I was lucky to catch his first solo show "Ogre Hungry" in August of 2011 at the 464 Gallery.
Since then, OGRE has been involved with several public art projects, shown at numerous galleries and designed a runway piece for the 2013 Mass Appeal Fashion Show. Check out the VibeTV exclusive artist profile below:
