Throughout the summer I had the opportunity to test out sunglasses from Costa Del Mar, Native, Smith, and Maui Jim. The Maui Jim Road Trip was the only set of glasses designed for women. In truth, the men’s glasses in this line-up can be considered unisex, and good choices for women as the Smith Challis and Native Penrose fit my mom and sister well, respectively. To help make the choice of which sunglasses to choose quick and easy, I take away the guess work for you.

Maui Jim Olive Tortoise, $229,…
5. Maui Jim Road Trip, $229
, The Fashionista’s Choice. Jackie Kennedy would approve of these stylish sunglasses. These would look good paired with a sundress and a convertible. They come in a charming floral box with an intricately folded  printed lens cloth that is tied neatly with Hawaiian bark Ipaper. These present buyers with the most frame choices of this lineup: Grey Tortoise/Black, Olive Tortoise/Olive, Tortoise/Brown, and Tortoise/Blue/Black

4. Native Penrose, $149, The Festy's Choice. These are something you would see at Coachella, Lollapalooza. They are fashionable but also provide the sun-protection needed on long days at an outdoor music festival. They are most similar to the style of the Revo Lukee yet will fit smaller faces and budgets. The frame/lens options include ny favorite which is Matte Black/Blue, Desert Tort/Bronze, Maple/Brown, Obsidian/Grey, Wood/Green.

3. Smith Challis, $219
, The Rider’s Choice Best All Season. These wrap-arounds offer great peripheral vision for days skiing at Holiday Valley and biking the Clarence Bicycle Trail. They also cut glare well during driving with zero color distortion. Snowbirds will want these glasses on the tennis court in Fort Lauderdale but also on the golf course in Orchard Park. Available in 18 choices of frames and lenses. I prefer the Matte Black/Blue

2. Revo Lukee, $279
,  The Around Towner's Choice. These handsome lenses are quintessentially mod. They are versatile—wear to a music festival or for longboarding Canalside and Niwanda Park. They also had the best lens quality after the Costa Del Mar Mag Bay. They are available with either a spotted Dark Tortoise frame or a Black Woodgrain. Lens choices are ample:  2 graphite, 2 Bluewater lenses, and Green Water, my personal favorite.

Costa Del Mar Mag Bay,…
1. Costa Del Mar Mag Bay, $249
, The Beachcomber's Choice. While I had over $1,100 of sunglasses in my care, the Mag Bay barely parted from the bridge of my nose. They had the best lens quality of all, and protected the best from the sun’s glare which is my main concern when choosing sunglasses because of how sensitive my eyes are, and how much the sun can hurt them. The frame/lens options include Matte Grey/Blue, Matte Sunset Fade/Blue, Shiny Black/Blue, Tortoise/Blue, Wood Fade/Blue.
