We're in the count down to Christmas and Channnukah! But before the holidays hit, there are plenty of things to do and places to go.
On the shortest day of the year head to the Winter Solstice Celebration at Parkside Yoga . Once you have finished your last minute shopping at at the West Side Bazaar while listening to soothing sitar music, have a blast at the Masquerade Ball.
Party down at the Buffalo Musicians Christmas Party at the Sportmen's on Thursday. Hosted by Billy Sheehan, Bobby Lebel and Jessie Galante to benefit the Sportsmen's Americana Music Foundation, you will rock to live Christmas music by the likes of Mick Hayes, Dave Constantino, Dick Bauerle, Ron Rocco, Mike Hund, Ken Kaufman, Kent Weber, members of Talas, The Road, JJ Swing, Cheater, Black Widow, Old Friends, Fat Brat, Party of Nine and 12 Pack Jack.
Friday is the final night to drive through the Festival of Lights at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. It's also Festivus (for the rest of us) at the Hydraulic Hearth. If you're gearing up for Channukah, try DBGB's Shalom to the Dome where you'll find complimentary Pastrami and Matzo Ball Soup and some awesome DJs.
If you're searching for a serene place to celebrate Christmas Eve, the exquisite Westminster Church welcomes you. There is a family Service at 5:15pm when the Westminster Choir School will perform "Ceremony of Carols" accompanied by harp. A Concert at 10:00pm will feature Handbell carols, and Poulenc’s exuberant "Gloria". Attend the Candlelit Festival Service of Lessons and Carols at 10:45pm to hear the Westminster Choirs, the Handbell Choir, and musicians from the Buffalo Philharmonic performing music inspired by cultures around the world.
Once the presents are opened and the eggnog runs out, get centered with some Christmas Day Yoga. As the tinsel fades, cap off Christmas with a bang at the Pearl Street Grill for an awesome Christmas Party. Starts at at 10:00pm.
Have a very merry Christmas and a brilliant start to Channukah! The New Year beckons...
