If you grew up in the '90s like I did, listen up. Two of my favorite groups of musicians to ever pick up guitars and drumsticks, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sublime, have recently released new music.
First off, the Chili Peppers. Their 10th studio album, I'm With You, is set to be released on August 26, and it will feature their 77th (I'm only slightly exaggerating) guitarist, newcomer Josh Klinghoffer, who will replace the departed-for-the-second-time-and-more-than-slightly-crazy John Frusciante. The first single from the album, "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," is streaming below. It's nothing extraordinary, and I'm not crazy about the poppy chorus, but I have a feeling it'll be stuck in my head either way. Even though the single isn't fantastic, I still have a good feeling about the album.
