Darian Bryan was born and raised in Clarendon, Jamaica. He found his love for cooking at a young age when helping his mother with the local cook shop in town. Darian was able to come here only five years ago and has accomplished much in that time. He started at ECC Culinary School with his Associates degree while working full time. In his time at ECC, he graduated on high honor roll and started the famous Caribbean Cuisine Week that happens every semester at the Statler Dining Room of City Campus. Upon graduation, he was fortunate enough to land his first big job at Hutch’s Restaurant which is rated the number one restaurant in Buffalo. Here he was moved to sous chef after only two years of service. Subsequently, he earned his Sous Chef Certification through the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He has volunteered his culinary teaching skills to ECC during Caribbean week each semester, his church’s healthy foods initiative, and has even had the chance to cook for the Prime Minister of Jamaica at the Simply Red Heart Association Festival. At age 23, he won the Western New York Change Makers 30 Under 30 award for his passion and hard work in the culinary community. Darian recently helped a local restaurant start from the ground up with menu planning, staff hiring and training, food costing, farm to table planning, and so much more. With all of this experience under his belt he cant wait to help you find your inner foodie!
