I’m trying to remember, pero nunca olvidaré
Thursday 17th May, 2018
Interweaving their drawing styles and print processes together – literally – Llobet and MacNeil
branch off from traditional forms of printmaking to create a visual language that showcases the
ebbs and flows of memory over time. Ambiguous architectures in the forms of corners, rooms,
walls, and patterns emerge and recede, invoking feelings of familiarity, hinting at recollections and previous realities.
For the collaborative works in this show, MacNeil and Llobet combine their respective passion
for monotype and screenprinting through multi-dimensional interwoven structures. Entwining
their memories of spaces, patterns, drawing styles, and print techniques, the works in this show
challenge the reliability of memory and individual perceptions of past experiences.
