Castellani Art Museum
Niagara University, NY 14109
Celebrate the exhibition opening for "Biological Regionalism: Niagara River, Western New York by Alberto Rey," which explores the complexities of the Niagara River past and present.
Utilizing lushly illustrated narratives, Rey capitalizes on his unique visual language to speak to the importance of the Niagara River in American popular culture and how this has changed over time.
These large-scale paintings reflect the River's historical significance to the Underground Railroad, Native American culture, and the pollution of both the River and communities along its bank.
Light refreshments will be served. RSVP required.
