The Great Water Walk is a community event to raise awareness and funds for clean drinking water. Every day in Sierra Leone, women and children walk miles carrying Jerry cans weighing up to 40 pounds, collecting dirty water that may lead to sickness and death. On Saturday, June 20th we will walk on their behalf. With two distances to choose from: 1 mile and 4 miles, every walker and team is welcome as we fill Beaver Island Park!Each participant will receive a one gallon Jerry can for fundraising opportunities. Fundraising prizes will be awarded as well as prizes for the top individual fundraiser and the top team!Jerry Can Challenge: Teams are challenged to choose to walk their 4 miles with a filled full sized Jerry can, gaining insight to the day to day life of those we have been called to support. Teams who accomplish this will get special recognition and a gift to remember their achievement.Post walk party includes food trucks & family friendly activities!
