The Pop In Grand Opening with The Public
Thursday 25th Jun, 2015
The grand opening of a community activated storefront that's on a mission to connect people to Buffalo and its resurgence in new and unexpected ways. Located on the West Side at 218 Grant Street, The Pop In is the passion project of Jason Lloyd Clement and Casey William Milbrand – two Buffalo boosters who want to do their part to make the Queen City the best it can be. So much so that they rented a storefront to make it happen.
One hundred percent inspired by the city we all love, their unique space features the first ever “Buffalove” mural, a dramatic 14-foot wheat paste of the Richardson Olmsted Complex, a green wall, and an interactive sculpture made of 25 interconnected bicycle wheels called “CityHEART.” Once open, The Pop In will host events and exhibitions created by Jason and Casey, as well as those curated by the local community.
It will also be available for rentals. The only requirement is that each event spotlight Buffalo and the many people and organizations who make it awesome. Taking place on Thursday, June 25, this free grand opening event will feature public art, beer, music by Rick Jameson, dancing, and a Buffalo-inspired Grant Street block party complete with cornhole, KanJam, and hula hoops.
