Cyrano
Thursday 6th Feb, 2014 → Sunday 23rd Feb, 2014
In Paris, in the year 1640, a brilliant poet and swordsman named Cyrano de Bergerac finds himself deeply in love with his beautiful, intellectual cousin Roxanne. Despite Cyrano's brilliance and charisma, a shockingly large nose afflicts his appearance, and he considers himself too ugly even to risk telling Roxanne his feelings.
The Buffalo Laboratory Theatre's adaptation of Edmund Rostand’s classic tale of romance and adventure has three people playing all of the main roles. It's a fast-paced, modernized staging using minimal scenic and technical elements. Instead, the performers use live music, aerial dance and pure, old-school theatrical magic to engage the 21st Century audience in a unique and exciting way.
