Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA the Semi-Supervillains spin their own web of electrified raunchy garage rock. Drawing melodic influences from the likes of Jack White and The Strokes and taking instrumental cues from the classic monsters, Vinnie Longhi writes with a clear conscience of pop and bluesy distorted destruction. Ron Rekowski takes care of the lows with dangerously hook driven lines rounded out with Cory Caruso's steady yet powerful backbeat. The Semi-Supervillains released the single "Black Letter" in early 2011. The track saw rotation on Pittsburgh's 105.9 the X and drew critical acclaim from Kurt Retenauer from the Duquesne Duke: "Don't be fooled by their young age and new beginning. The Semi-Super Villains have a mature garage-punk sound that would put many bands to shame."
The Viva Noir: https://www.facebook.com/thevivanoir
The Viva Noir is a Post-Punk and Brit-Pop-inspired quartet from Buffalo, NY. The band came together in the winter of 2008 after a long lost weekend spent spinning records, discussing the decline of western art and literature, and imbibing many a drink at local Queen City watering holes. J. Taylor, as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, fuses street poetry to jagged chords in order to bridge the gap between Paul Westerberg’s boozy Americana and Morrissey’s British romanticism. Angel, the lead guitarist, uses his instrument to paint broad strokes of music across the Viva Noir canvas, incorporating the chorus-dripping sounds of Andy Summers, the arpeggio runs of Johnny Marr, and the fat, dirty, & loud punk rock sounds of Mick Jones. Drummer Jayme is the rock solid foundation on which the Viva Noir sound is built. His playing reflects a lifetime of performing in smoky haunts, providing the backbeat to a variety of musical styles from punk rock to jazz and blues. Josh Garverick, on bass, is a tall and imposing figure providing the low end rumble required to anchor the sound and provide the melody, ala Peter Hook and Mike Joyce, for the sonic adventures of the rest of the band.
Pointless Pursuit: https://www.facebook.com/pointlesspursuitband
Grunge/Rock from Grand Island, NY. Ricky Ryder, the guitarist and lead vocalist of the band, starting writing songs before he even picked up an instrument, making up lyrics and melodies as early as age 5. In 2005, he learned to play the guitar. His songwriting slowly began to improve, but he wanted more than just guitar and his voice. He wanted a band, so with the help of his new found friend (Abram) in high school choir; in which he learned nothing about how to read music or write it, they started a band. Since 2008 Ricky has been playing music with a band and writing songs. After a falling out and loss of members they decided to stop playing, Ricky continued to write and eventually found a new group of talented musicians, after a reunion show with Abram and old band mates, Ricky formed the new and improved Pointless Pursuit with Drummer Jeremy Smith and Bassist Joe Rains. Front man Ricky Ryder has been known to throw his guitar and bring a lot of energy to his performance and has this to say, "We're mainly in a spaceship recording music and bustin' rhymes, but sometimes we like to come to earth and show people what true Rock n' Roll is all about." -Pointless Pursuit
Jekyl & Hyde: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jekyl-Hyde/373184372791789
"We are an Alternative/Modern Rock Band from Buffalo, NY. With very diverse influences, we bring a bit of a throwback sound from the 90's, mixed with today's Rock."
Zealot: https://www.facebook.com/TheBandZealot
Thrash/Post Punk from Fredonia, NY. Comprised of Jesse McMahon Eagan, Mike Sweeney, & Jimmy DiMartino.
