How do we assertively, safely and effectively intervene when we witness bias or discrimination? What can we do to help our community avoid prejudice and thrive in a diverse environment? How do we best prevent escalation, change norms and reduce future incidents?

Join facilitator Dr. Jenn Hunt at Trinity Buffalo on Sunday, November 19th to learn how to effectively intervene against racism as a bystander.  "There are lots of things you can do if you witness racist behavior. Bystander intervention may be able to stop a racist incident, prevent it from escalating and potentially prevent or minimize social or emotional harm to the targeted person or group. Taking a personal stand also contributes to the establishment of social norms which make racist behavior unacceptable in our community and has the potential to affect individuals' attitudes in the long term. What action you decide to take will depend on the situation and what you deem to be safe and constructive." - From the Monash University website.
