Movers & Makers: DIY, Makerspaces & Design
Thursday 21st Jan, 2016
Explore this exciting arena of design and making. Driven by rapid advancements in 3D printing, CNC machining, embedded and miniature computers and the growing number of makerspaces of all kinds, designers are creatively using steadily less expensive and more sophisticated methods to do product design, rapid prototyping and even small-scale manufacturing.
For those already in the design/make field or those who are interested in learning more - this is a great opportunity to expand your horizons, by networking and starting collaborations with creative and open-minded designers and makers.
Free of charge. Some snacks and drinks will be provided, please BYOB or food.
Sponsored by Design Block, hosted by Buffalo Lab and The Foundry, designers and makers will discuss and demonstrate the intersection of design and the DIY/Maker movement.
Design Block is a forum for architects, designers of all stripes, concerned citizens, preservationists, environmentalists, urban planners and armchair urban designers in Buffalo, New York. We’re passionate about design—urban, architectural, industrial, interior, furniture and more.
