Buffalo Hates You, Too: A Love Story - Launch Party
Thursday 10th Sep, 2015
A free event to support this locally-produced movie that promises to paint a vivid picture of where Buffalo has been, where it’s going, and the struggles it must address to truly recover. By looking closely at the Queen City’s neighborhoods, citizens, and stories, this full-length feature film will open your eyes to a remarkable American city and the people who (mostly) love it.
Join Mayor Byron Brown, Flying Bison Brewery, and other local vendors and celebrities with the rest of the city! Okay, maybe Buffalo doesn’t hate you, but it’s pretty tired of being perceived as a hopeless, snowbound, rust-belt dystopia.
Decades of economic struggle have seen the city’s population shrink, its infrastructure crumble, and its civic self-esteem severely challenged. But now, in the midst of what looks like a genuine renaissance, Buffalo is picking itself up, dusting itself off, and looking its detractors right in the eye.
In many ways, Buffalo is a town that time forgot, a holdout from the increasing homogenization and corporate blandness that threatens the character of many American cities. Strange, beautiful, and often frustrating, Buffalo is something increasingly rare in American life – a real place.
