Buffalo Humanities Festival
Thursday 22nd Sep, 2016 → Saturday 24th Sep, 2016
University at Buffalo
University at Buffalo Buffalo, NY 14260EVENT DATES
Everyone seems to agree that Buffalo is enjoying a renaissance. What is it about the concept of rebirth that gets people so excited? Like the remix of a popular song, the Buffalo Humanities Festival takes the familiar idea of “renaissance” and gives it a new spin. With three days of talks, performances, discussions, and food, this year’s Festival examines rebirth, renewal, and resurgence. From the fifteenth-century Renaissance through the Harlem Renaissance to today, we’ll explore who benefits when ideas and economies are reborn. Join us from September 22nd to 24th for our annual celebration of ideas – and enjoy your own intellectual renewal. Featured speaker Dava Sobel, Author of 'Galileo's Daughter'
Friday, September 23rd at the Albright Knox Art Gallery. VIP event with the author at 7:00pm, followed by a talk on 'The rebirth of the heavens' at 8:00pm, followed by a book signing.
