Local environmentalist and life-long railfan Walter Simpson and author of Diesel-Electric Locomotives: How They Work, Use Energy, and Can Become More Efficient and Environmentally Sustainable will present a talk on diesel electric locomotives. Walter’s talk will follow the book’s topics, explaining technical details, the adventure of researching locomotive technology, and the intrigue associated with penetrating the secrecy surrounding locomotive energy efficiency.
