Are you a lover of gardening, botany and Buffalo? Do you love to share your passion with others and enjoy learning and talking with the public? Are you looking to become involved in a rewarding volunteer experience? Consider becoming a docent at the Botanical Gardens educating visitors of all ages! Docents lead tours and teach hands-on programs for field trip programs, scout groups and Wegmans Family Days. They also answer visitor questions during special plant exhibits and events and assist the Education staff in programs that educate visitors about all the Botanical Gardens has to offer.

An education background is not required, but a high level of interest and enthusiasm is! If you have been trained as a docent in the past and haven’t been involved recently, or would like a refresher, you are also welcome to attend training!  For more information, check our website or contact the Education Department at 827.1584 ext. 223 or aoldham@buffalogardens.com.
