Roycroft Campus to Celebrate 10 Year Anniversary of PBS Documentary on Elbert Hubbard
East Aurora, NY – The Roycroft Campus will celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the PBS Documentary, Elbert Hubbard: An American Original. Produced locally by WNED-TV, the documentary is part of the American Experience series and highlights the life and work of Larkin Soap-salesman-turned-author who founded the Roycroft as a center of philosophy and craftsmanship in the early 20th century.
On Wednesday November 2oth, the documentary will be screened at the Roycroft Power House at 6:30pm, followed by a special presentation with the film’s director, Paul Lamont. A filmmaker for over twenty years, Lamont spent ten years producing award-winning films for national and regional PBS such as Frank Lloyd Wright's Buffalo and Glorious Battle: The Siege of Fort Erie. Critics have called his documentaries "masterful" and "works of art" with "insightful historical analysis" and "impressive direction." Lamont has been nominated for National Emmy and New York State Emmy Awards, including for his work on Elbert Hubbard: An American Original.
The Roycroft Campus is excited to commemorate this milestone along with Paul Lamont and the WNY community; this documentary serves as a great educational tool and a beautiful tribute to life and legacy of Mr. Hubbard.
