Film Screening: "A Path Toward Equality: The Dalit People of India"

The Canisius College Video Institute will premiere its latest social documentary, A Path Toward Equality: The Dalit People of India on Monday, March 27th at 7:00 pm in the Grupp Fireside Lounge, 2nd floor of the Winter Student Center at Canisius. The event is free and open to the public. A panel discussion and refreshments will follow the screening.

Produced by Michael Compton, DMA '17, the film focuses on the daily lives and struggles of the people who are Dalit—a general classification for the “untouchables,” those who are oppressed within India’s traditional caste system. The documentary emanated from a Campus Ministry trip during the summer of 2016.
