1 Lafayette Square Buffalo, NY 14203Connect with local, independent authors at “Indie Author Day" in a tradeshow format at the Downtown Library, “Indie Author Day” will offer local authors visibility at which time they can discuss their work, sell copies of their books, connect with other local writers, and learn more about publishing options from a series of onsite expert speakers.
“Indie Author Day” is free and open to the public. It is part of a first-ever national effort on Saturday, October 8 to connect local independent authors with public libraries across the nation.
Authors local to Erie County are urged to sign up for this free showcase event – space is limited and on a first come, first served basis by e-mailing conablea@buffalolib.org for an application.
“There is a flourishing literary community here in Western New York, and we want to shine a light on the many gifted local writers,” stated Library Director Mary Jean Jakubowski. “The Library has made a commitment to include books by local authors in our collection, and we hope ‘Indie Author Day’ helps encourage new writers -- and readers – to discover and appreciate this collection of books written by hometown writers.”
