468 Washington Street Buffalo, NY 14203 THIS EVENT HAS PASSEDJust Buffalo Literary Center and the WNY Book Arts Center are teaming up to offer a unique summer experience for area teenagers.
This week-long workshop will help participants take their creativity to new levels by sharpening their writing skills and introducing them to new modes of artistic expression through the book arts.
Writer Rachael Katz will introduce participants to fun and innovative writing exercises and lead the group through the process of crafting their own short book of poems or prose. Studio Director of WNYBAC, Chris Fritton will lead attendees through methods of thoughtfully designing and letterpress printing covers for their short book, as well as simple bookbinding techniques. Each student will make an edition of 10 books total.
This workshop is intended for teens, ages 12-16 years old and will be held at the Western New York Book Arts Center & JBLC at 468 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo. Prints, Poems, and Prose will be held Monday August 11th through Friday, August 15th from 1-4pm daily.
