Experience the story of the construction and the completion of the 19th Century engineering marvel, the Erie Canal, in a totally contemporary way, using theatre, dance, and music. Performed by a multi-cultural cast of actors, dancers and musicians, "Wedding of the Waters" tells the iconic Erie Canal story in ways that have never before been imagined or conceived.

This original performance piece conceived and staged by an ensemble made up of both professional and amateur performers is based in extensive historical research, but developed by the full team. The end result is a piece of work that is engaging, captivating, and intentionally “one of a kind,” intended to inspire audiences to want to learn more about the Erie Canal and "The Buffalo Story."

Presented by the Friends of the Buffalo Story every Monday night in August at 8 p.m. in The Ruins at Canalside, next to the Commercial Slip. Free and open to the Public.

We gratefully acknowledge the support of Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation and the William Rupp Foundation for this production.
