Ein Prosit Oktoberfest at The Marcy Casino in Delaware Park - Event to Aid Hurricane Matthew Victims Through Local American Red Cross

Buffalo, NY – Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi, PROST! On Saturday, October 22, Swoop Jones Productions hosts Oktoberfest at the Marcy Casino on Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park. Not merely an annual celebration of German heritage, Oktoberfest at the Marcy Casino is a benefit to raise funds for the Western New York Chapter American Red Cross to assist victims of Hurricane Matthew. The festivities run from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a Bavarian feast of authentic German food, a variety of beers from Bells Brewery and local brewery Thin Man Brewery and samples of German wine & spirits. The featured entertainment is live music from “Western New York’s Most Popular German Band”, The Frankfurters.

“We were looking for another event to invite the public to enjoy our beautiful Olmsted Park at the Marcy Casino – an Oktoberfest celebration seemed fitting for the fall,” stated Jason Davidson, operator of Magnolia Catering, the catering service that runs weddings and events out of the Marcy Casino. “We expect a large crowd for this event, so we felt we should take the opportunity to benefit a local charity, as we have been doing all summer.” This summer, weekly Thursday Hoppy Hour events at the Marcy Casino hosted by local firm Bill Miller Law have raised funds and promoted many of Buffalo’s non-profits including the March of Dimes, the Say Yes to Education program and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“This event will raise funds to assist those caught in the wake of Hurricane Matthew in both he United States and Haiti,” added Chuck Marra, Executive Director of the Western New York Chapter of the American Red Cross. “We are deploying volunteers to several states in the US, providing food, shelter, clothing, comfort and clean-up kits.  It’s a massive and expensive undertaking and this event is meant to assist in raising additional funds.”

The Oktoberfest at the Marcy Casino will take place on Saturday, October 22nd from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Marcy Casino in Delaware Park, 199 Lincoln Parkway, Buffalo, NY 14222.
