The Hooley On The River promotes Irish/Celtic music and culture which lends to the rich history of Buffalo. The immigrants from Ireland provided much of the hard labor involved in the building, running and maintaining of the Erie Canal and Industrial waterfront throughout the years. For some the Hooley was the only escape from the hardships of their day, for generations, the highlight of Irish social life was the Hooley. Music, dance, song, food, drink, and good conversation all flow freely at the Hooley On The River!
