EMPact of New York and the Food Bank of WNY are partnering to bring rural and suburban families the "Kids in the Kitchen" program. 

Kids in the Kitchen is a hands-on program through which children learn about cooking and sound nutrition. Students will meet once a week for four weeks begining August 9th continuing through the 16th, 23rd, and 30th. They will learn how their eating habits affect their health as they prepare simple, nutritious snacks and meals. Topics learned include myplate, “half plate healthy,” proper portions, reading food labels and the importance of exercise.  Students are provided with take-home snacks and recipes to reiterate learned concepts at the end of each class. They also receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

* This is for children ages 9-12 only.
