EVENT DATES
Explore Buffalos' incredible industrial heritage on "The Miss Buffalo II" as we take you down the City Ship Canal and the Buffalo River into the heart of city's historic Grain Elevator District. This two hour boat tour done exclusively by The Industrial Heritage Committee, Inc. since 1985 is the premier grain elevator tour in the Buffalo Harbor. Old photos, maps and video will be on display for viewing during the tour to further enhance this educational experience suitable for all ages. This tour was featured on the CBS Sunday Morning program.
Learn about the massive General Mills complex so prominent on our skyline, still going strong for over 100 years, and the unusual rare brick box Great Northern Elevator, a technological marvel of it's time dating to the 19th century. Explore the serpentine Buffalo River taking you through the core of the grain elevator complexes at "Silo City" all the way to the impressive monumental Concrete-Central Elevator over a thousand feet long, once the largest in the world. Buffalo was the birthplace of the grain elevator in 1842, so come and share in our proud history on the only ORIGINAL Historic Buffalo River Tour, over 30 years in the making.
