Monday 22nd May, 2017
Albright-Knox Art Gallery
1285 Elmwood Avenue Buffalo, NY 14222Teresa C. Younger, a noted speaker, activist and advocate for women’s economic justice, the current CEO and president of Ms. Foundation for women, and is ready to see equality for all, will serve as the keynote speaker on May 22nd for an event to benefit the WNY Women’s Foundation.
“What She’s Made Of” is an annual fundraising event for the Foundation, and proceeds will directly benefit successful programs that empower women and girls to achieve success through education, economic independence and by removing barriers for all.
This year’s theme is “Everything is Possible”. Younger works tirelessly on behalf of women and their economic and social place, always envisioning a present and future where Everything is Possible. Her work with the Ms. Foundation brings attention to the marginalized women of today’s society and advocates for national and statewide policy change to address these issues. Under Younger’s leadership, the Foundation joined other leading women’s organizations, including the WNY Women’s Foundation, at the White House to announce a $100 million funding commitment to create pathways to economic opportunity for low-income women and girls.
As a champion for women, she is an accomplished leader and advocate with over 20 years of leadership and management experience; an ability to build strong partnerships amongst diverse communities and constituencies; and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and proven ability to develop creative, innovative solutions to organizational challenges.
This year’s event will be held at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery on Monday, May 22nd at 5:30pm. The event will feature exquisite cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a dessert laden after-party, catered exclusively by Delaware North Companies. The event is co-chaired by WNY Women’s Foundation board members Nicole Nobel and Rebecca Collins, both City of Buffalo residents. The presenting sponsor is M&T Bank. Individual tickets for this signature networking event are available for $150 per person and a limited number of VIP tickets are also available.
