Join us on Saturday, Jan 20, to officially open the MLK Jr. Park Basin for the skating season, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy and the City of Buffalo. 

DATE: Saturday, January 20, 2018

PLACE: Martin Luther King Jr. Park Basin and Casino, West Parade Circle, Buffalo, NY 14211. Parking is available along Humboldt Parkway South (enter via West Parade Circle) and Martin Luther King Jr. Park (enter via Northampton Street)

TIME: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

There will be indoor and outdoor activities planned for that afternoon. This event is FREE and open to the public. 

Activities include:

- BlueCross BlueShield Healthy Zone Cruiser

- FREE Old-fashioned Pond Ice-skating (weather depedent)

- FREE Skate Rental (Figure and Hockey)

- Face-painting- Balloon Art

- Hands-on Activity with the Buffalo Museum of Science

- Refreshments donated in-kind by Ashker's Juice Bar - Bistro - Gallery, James Desiderio Inc., Tops Friendly Markets, Wegmans Food Markets and Wolter's Bakery 

The MLK Jr. Park Basin is a designated BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York Healthy Zone, and it serves as a old-fashion pond skating rink in the winter and splash pad in the summer.
