WurstFest
Sunday 28th Jun, 2015
An Oktoberfest in June, Wurstfest is a celebration of traditional sausage, bier, and oompah.
Gates open at 1 pm with live music from Die Auslanders, followed by the 25 piece German-American Musicians, "Buffalo's BIG German Band." Put the "Wurst" in "Wurstfest" with authentic German fare provided by Scharfs Restaurant. Snack on giant pretzels, kettle corn, and Bavarian nuts. Don't forget to raise your glasses on high in "Prost" with the traditional beverage of choice of true Bavarians! Bier!
If you have not come prepared, check out the German-American Musicians' store for steins, tracht, and everything else you need to get festive. Visit the vendor midway for souvenirs and crafts, or just relax and enjoy the unique views of the grain silos across the Buffalo River. Dancing and Schunkling will limber you up as you prepare for the appearance of special guest Herr Dunderbeck.
There are plenty of activities to keep you busy throughout the day. Don your favorite pair of Lederhosen if you think you are Buffalo's best dressed Bavarian! Test your strength and endurance in the Nickel City Stein Hoist! If shuffleboard is your thing, challenge your friends to the Bavarian Beer Slide! With a variety of games for all ages, there will be no shortage of Gemütlichkeit!
