Attorney turned Boogie, Blues, & Ragtime musician, Matthew Ball aka The Boogie Woogie Kid will heat up the piano keys at THE ALBRIGHT-KNOX GALLERY this FRIDAY APRIL 3d 2015 @ 8:30p.m., with an ALL AMERICAN program of family piano favorites from the SWING era of the 20s 30s and 40s!
Today with over 3 million youtube views of his past performance and at home video footage, and concerts with regular capacity crowds and standing ovations, Ball has truly become a phenomenon, with descriptions of his performances like “Awesome!” “Crushing!” Fantastic!”
He also boasts a pedagogical link to Frederic Chopin himself!, having studied classically at Oakland University in Rochester MI with Dr. Flavio Varani. Professor Varani traced his pedigree of study through the Paris Conservatory back to Frederic Chopin by way of Magda Tagliaferro, Alfred Cortot, and Emile Descombs, who was a late pupil of the composer Chopin.
Suffice to say you won’t want to miss this special toe-tappin’ program of family piano fun featuring classics like Swanee River, Over the Rainbow, Waltzing Matilda, The Entertainer, In the Mood, Bumble Boogie and so many more! Here are the details:
