Don Menza Quintet: A Tribute to Ron Corsaro | October 8, 2017
Don Menza is a powerful tenor saxophonist, with a dynamic, distinctive sound and soloing style. Born in Buffalo, New York in 1936, Menza has performed with Maynard Ferguson’s Orchestra (1960-1962) as both a soloist and an arranger, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, and more.
Buffalo Jazz Collective Sextet Plays Bebop | November 12th, 2017
The Buffalo Jazz Collective Sextet includes Buffalo' most sought after jazz musicians, Bobby Militello, John Hasselback, Mark Filsinger, George Caldwell, John Bacon, and Jim Colemon. For this concert, the BJC Sextet will play original charts by band members highlighting the exciting bebop era of jazz.

Caldwell Plays Basie with the Buffalo Jazz Collective Repertory Orchestra | January 14th, 2018
Artistic Director, George Caldwell, leads the BJC Repertory Orchestra in an afternoon of the music of the Count Basie Orchestra. For over 30 years, George has toured the world with groups such as the Count Basie Orchestra and Duke Ellington Orchestra and has performed with an extensive list of legendary artists that includes Dizzy Gillespie, Bobby McFerrin, and Nancy Wilson. The Buffalo Jazz Collective Repertory Orchestra is a newly formed group of young professional jazz musicians in the Western New York area.
Joe Ford Quartet | February 11th, 2018
Buffalo, N.Y., born and raised, two-time Grammy award winner Joe Ford is an innovative soprano and tenor sax player. Ford taught music in the Buffalo Public Schools from 1968 to 1972, and the went on to work and play extensively with such artists as Sam Jones, Lester Bowie, Jimmy Owens, and more.
Pat Labarbera Quartet | March 11th, 2018
We conclude our Second Sunday's series with New York native and Toronto jazz artist, Pat Labarbera. LaBarbera has performed and recorded consistently with Elvin Jones since 1975, appearing at premier jazz festivals all over the world. He has also worked with the bands of Louis Bellson, Woody Herman and spent several years touring and recording as the featured tenor saxophone soloist with the Buddy Rich Band.
