Some people talk the talk about a career in music. Pat Shea "walks the walk". As his CD "The Road Less Traveled" details with beautiful and haunting complexity, Pat Shea has journeyed far on what poet Robert Frost called "the one less traveled by".

Pat Shea came to the attention of fans across the United States and Canada when he triumphed over nearly 200 other competitors, week after week on the nationally televised "Star" talent search. Emerging as the champion and grand prize winner, Shea went on to appear numerous times as a guest on the popular television show "Nashville Now" . Shea was also flown to Ft. Worth, Texas to tape an hour long concert at the world famous "Billy Bob's" for the televised "On Stage" series. He recorded his song "The Lord May Take Me" for Polygram Records, which was released to radio nationally and internationally. He also shot a companion video that was in rotation
on TNN and CMT.

Shea's critically acclaimed CD "The Road Less Traveled" has received airplay not only in his hometown of Buffalo, N.Y., but across the U.S. and as far away as The Netherlands and Australia. Pat Shea's dynamic live performances spark standing ovations in his headlining concerts, as well as when he has shared the stage with other national recording and touring artists such as Vince Gill, Alabama, Wynona, Travis Tritt, Kenny Rogers,
Lee Greenwood, Tanya Tucker, Anne Murray, Emmylou Harris, Lorrie Morgan, Ricky Van Shelton, Restless Heart, Suzy Boguss, Sawyer Brown, John Berry, Holly Dunn,Commander Cody, and Asleep at the Wheel, to name a few.

Shea has performed at venues throughout the U.S. and Canada. Some of his favorites have been in Nashville,appearing at writers nights at clubs such as Douglas Corners, 12th & Porter, The Ace of Clubs, and the prestigious, world famous Bluebird Cafe.

In 2004 Pat Shea was inducted into the New York State Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Pat Shea's musical tastes are diverse. His concerts are noted for the spontaneous
energy between the audience and the artist, yet are carefully crafted to showcase his talent as a songwriter,the beauty and power of his three octave vocal range, and his love of all types of good music. Labels and boundaries don't appeal or apply to Pat Shea. "The hardest question I am ever asked is to describe my music, or "what style of music do you do?" . In my writing I try to deal honestly with feelings and emotions, whether they be something I have experienced personally or something I observe. If I've had these feelings, chances are that the listener has had similar feelings, and that is why I think people respond to what I've written. Everyone has experienced love,loss,joy etc., I'm able to put those feelings in words and music. In my shows, I sing music that I love".

Pat Shea is involved with the children charity
"Variety Club". He has donated his time and talent to appear as a member of the national cast on variety Club Telethons in Buffalo, New York, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His original composition "Open Up Your Heart" was used as a theme for the telethon. Shea recorded the song and donated proceeds from the sale of CDs to Variety Club. He was invited to Variety Clubs International convention to perform the song for Variety members from around the world.

Drawn to music early, Pat Shea was inspired by all kinds of musicians and performers. " My first and biggest influence has to be The Beatles...I listened to and was inspired by everything, from bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Who...to my Irish uncles singing rebel songs into the wee hours at the Shea family reunions!". Along the way Shea was also influenced by singer songwriters such as John Denver, James Taylor, Jim Croce and Harry Chapin, and modern day poets such as Bruce Springsteen, to name a few. However, those who listen to his original music and see him perform live agree that his work reminds them of only one artist: Pat Shea.

In addition to his CD's of original music, "Pearls", and "The Road Less Traveled", Shea has recorded three CDs of Christmas music, and a CD of traditional Irish Songs - "The Rocky Road To Dublin", all of which are available online at.patshea.com.
