Adults and children of all ages are invited to come explore storytelling through music with performer Zuri Appleby. The audience will be encouraged to use their experience to explore musical expression of their personal stories.
Zuri Elise Appleby, a Buffalo native and daughter of music and education professionals Rodney and Linda Appleby, is studying philosophy and psychology at Buffalo State College. Appleby has performed with renowned gospel musicians Martha Munizzi and Marvin Sapp, and opened for Grammy Award-winning producer and solo musician PJ Morton. She also performs frequently in venues around Buffalo.
As a member of the United States Marine Corps, Appleby studied at the United States Armed Forces School of Music, and spent another three years in the Marine Band stationed in New Orleans.
