The Jauntee with Imperial Brown
Wednesday 7th Dec, 2016
Buffalo Iron Works
49 Illinois St Buffalo, NY 14203Averaging over one hundred shows a year — The Jauntee has quickly made a name for themselves in the New England music scene. Hailing from Boston, they’ve solidified a dedicated following in the Northeast, playing most staple venues in the area (ie. Paradise Rock Club, Nectar’s, The Spot Underground, Stone Church). Several New England festival appearances (ie. Catskill Chill, StrangeCreek, Disc Jam) and extensive touring down the East Coast and across the Midwest have given them Nationwide recognition, with sold out shows as far west as Denver, CO (Quixote’s). A focus on live improvisation, set list variety, and musical exploration makes every show different from the last, truly making The Jauntee a live act to see again and again.
Drawing influence from a wide variety of bands, The Jauntee’s improvisational landscape spans multiple genres, including: Funk/Rock/Jazz/Progressive/Bluegrass/Psychedelic and Ambient music. Their willingness to explore genres, abandon all song structure, and dive into ‘the weird’ sets them apart from your average upcoming Jam Band. They aim to push the boundaries of improvisation, embrace the moment and engage the audience. With an ever-expanding song catalog and an inclination for open ended improvisation, every show promises to be a unique experience.
Imperial Brown
Imperial Brown has been laying down a unique blend of rock, reggae, funk, and jam since their formation in 2012. The members of Imperial Brown are seasoned veterans of the Western New York music scene, with Rob Brocklehurst and Tom Danat hailing from Twin City Kings, and Brad Darrall coming from Aqueous. In 2014, founding member Rob Browning took a step back, paving the way for Kurt Ebsary to take over as the resident piano wizard for IB.
Relying on a strong rhythmic foundation, sonically diverse instrumentation, and driving leads, Imperial Brown brings the heat every show. In early 2014 the band released their debut studio EP “A Little Something” and they are currently in and out of the studio tracking a brand new full-length record. The band draws influence from countless classic bands, such as The Grateful Dead, The Band, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Herbie Hancock, and Stevie Wonder, as well as modern jam gurus Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, and moe.
Imperial Brown loves music, and loves playing it even more. Stop by the next Imperial Brown show, and say hi – you won’t regret it!
