Constantly revived worldwide and widely regarded as the finest Irish tragedy-comedy ever written, this is Sean O’Casey’s masterpiece, part of his famous Dublin Trilogy, along with Juno and the Paycock and Shadow of a Gunman. Brilliantly capturing the daily lives of working class Dubliners caught up in the events of the 1961 Easter Rising, this moving play inspired riots at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin when it was first produced.
