This soulful duo acoustic of Tri State Area features the talents of singing/songwriting of Joe Spahn and guitar/singing/songwriter Jimmy Devany. Their collabroative process put together the 10-song album "Radio Silent" as well as the clever 2015 8-song album "Songs About Cars". Described as folk-punk, this two-piecer delivers sharp, well-written songs including the reflective yet edgy The Author Chase His Tale in which singer Joe Spahn asks "I've organized my life into these songs to be no closer to where I belong. So should I try to paint myself in the best light", the heart-searching single Stay Awhile and the folk retro-infused narrative The Ballad of Marshall Fields.
"The album was just something we've always wanted to do since we've been playing music together on and off for the past ten years." Singer/songwriter Joe Spahn on the history of Tri State Area. Adding in the singles Stay Awhile and Complancency to "Radio Silent", the album is a collection of material the band has been working on for some time. "We used songs we'd written together or independently over the last few years".
