What is orienteering?
Orienteering is a sport where the participant uses a topographic map and a compass to navigate to particular points. At those points are flags called controls. The goal is to find the controls in order along the orienteering course. Participants can be fast competitors who race from control to control or casual participants who walk from control to control. In both instances the sport requires both mental and physical skills.
Cost: $10 ($5 for club members)
Groups are charged $10 ($5) for the group leader and $2 for each additional individual over 11 years old in the group.
After learning how to do orienteering stay for the Orienteering Meet that immediately follows.
