New Kid

October is National Bullying Prevention & Awareness Month. New Kid (ages 8+) is a timely piece that includes themes of acceptance, anti-bullying, inclusion and change, while exploring the issues of moving to a new country and being the outsider. 

After moving from Homeland to settle in America, Nick and his parents are settling into a new way of life, and Nick is starting in a new school. Nick’s hopes of making new friends vanish after his classmates make fun of his clothes, his lunch, and his confusion about almost everything.
