Have you ever wondered how honey gets from the beehive into the jar? Join local beekeepers as they demonstrate the process of harvesting, processing, and bottling pure, raw honey. Many opportunities to sample a wide variety of local honeys and honey products, activities for the kids, and free seminars offered throughout the weekend.

Here are some of the events you can expect to see during the event:

honey extraction demonstrations throughout both days

honey bottling

beeswax rendering

candle making

best tasting honey competition (want to enter?)

mead (honey wine) tasting from Lilly Belle Meads and Midgard Winery

honey snacks, including backed goods, candies, cupcakes, etc.

honey tasting – many varieties, local and from around the world

honey contest – vote for your favorite local honey, or enter yours to win prizes

seminars, including “Plants for Pollinators” with Sally Cunningham and “Beginning Backyard Beekeeping” with Erin Holko

representatives from WNY Honey Producers Association

lots of fun activities for the kids, including story time and face painting by MUSEjar of East Aurora

a special prize for every kid that comes dressed like a bee!

2:00 pm – “Backyard Beekeeping 101” with Erin Masterson Holko of Masterson’s Garden Center
