As can probably be pretty easily gleamed from its name, Yellow Dubmarine is a reggae and dub outfit that puts a Caribbean spin on the Beatles' catalog. The band is made up of several musicians who came together after meeting in the local Baltimore and Washington D.C. music scenes.
Because of the storied source material it pulls from, Yellow Dubmarine is an extremely accessible group, even for listeners who may never have previously considered themselves reggae or dub fans. The band's mellow upstroke guitar and thick bass line treatment of the Beatles' classics recently resulted in Abbey DUB, a track-by-track rendition of Abbey Road.
