Carrying the Craft Forward: The Roycroft Renaissance Exhibit Opening
Carrying the Craft Forward, Exhibit Opening
For 50 years, the Roycrofters-at-Large Association (RALA) has carried forward a legacy rooted in craftsmanship, creativity, community, and a belief in the enduring value of making things well.
Founded in 1976 by a group of passionate East Aurora residents, historians, artists, and descendants of the original Roycrofters, RALA began with a mission to preserve the spirit of Elbert Hubbard and the Roycroft Campus. Their work helped secure the Campus as a National Historic Landmark and sparked a new chapter in the Arts & Crafts tradition: the Roycroft Renaissance.
Carrying the Craft Forward celebrates that living legacy. As RALA marks its 50th anniversary in 2026, this exhibit looks at the people, artistry, and ideas that have shaped the movement—and the makers who continue to carry its craft, spirit, and vision forward.
