Richardson Olmsted Complex Audio Tour
Thursday 31st Mar, 2016 → Saturday 1st Oct, 2016
Explore the Richardson Olmsted Complex using the newly-released FREE exterior audio tour. Using any phone, you can call in for an exploratory look at the past, present, and future of this National Historic Landmark. There are 15 stops on the renewed South Lawn landscape, the 9-acre green space along Forest Avenue that was completed 2013. Approximately 30 minutes of content are included, but the tour may require up to an hour, depending on walking pace.
A map outlining the tour stops is posted at the Forest Avenue and Richmond Avenue entrance to the South Lawn and is always available at www.richardson-olmsted.com/visit/audio-tour for use during the tour.
Imagine the site from the comfort of your own home or experience it in person on the South Lawn. Find out why Carla Yanni, author of The Architecture of Madness, said that "architecture was considered essential to the cure."
The audio tour is part of an expanded public access project for the Richardson Olmsted Complex funded through a $10,000 grant from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. The content was co-created with the Museum Studies Department at SUNY Buffalo State.
