The first Light-a-Life Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony was held in 1989. The outpouring of support from the community has grown every year.

The Light-A-Life bell has been a heartfelt and cherished tradition for Hospice Buffalo since the bell was first introduced in 1995. Each year, the bells are lovingly inscribed by “Bell Ladies” - volunteers who handwrite and pack the 1,500+ bells sold each year. You can order a bell in memory of your loved one – it’s a beautiful way to pay tribute to someone so dear to you. Or, purchase as a gift for a relative or friend. The bell will hold a special place in your heart.
