Another year has passed and the Miles for Smiles team is planning another Wine Tasting Event, our 15th Annual! Guests will enjoy amazing hors d'oeuvres, other light fare, desserts, wine tasting, entertainment by Singer/Songwriter Steve Balesteri, auctions and ever fun Wine Toss game!  

Last year, was a beautiful evening on the waterfront at AcQua Restaurant.  Together, we raised $16,000 for our patients and their families.  We feel fortunate to have had the continuous support of family, friends, and local businesses throughout the years.   

The monies raised at this event help us continue to provide for the enhancement of care for children serviced by the Craniofacial Center of Western New York at the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.  Each year, our organization spends thousands of dollars on the purchase of costly specialized bottles to help families efficiently feed their children with cleft lip and palate.  This is a huge benefit which decreases families’ out-of-pocket expenses. Through our fundraising efforts, we also purchase items needed for Welcome Bags provided to new families.  These bags serve as an outward expression of our commitment to the education and support of families of children affected by craniofacial conditions.  The bags contain educational materials, valuable medical and contact information, as well as comfort items to help families through their many stays at the hospital.  We also look to support patient and family networking opportunities, offering another family zoo event in 2018.  Lastly, we plan to contribute to the new John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in a manner that benefits patients and their families cared for by the Craniofacial Center.
