The annual Peace, Justice, and Nonviolence Festival and Walk is a celebration and recognition of all the wonderful Buffalo organizations, churches and people actively working to reduce violence in all its forms in our communities, families, streets, nation, world and to Mother Earth.

The 150+ partner organizations and churches are the foundation of the Festival and Walk of Peace. Their members create the opportunity to stand publicly together for more just and peaceful lives for all the world’s children. The festival is an opportunity to support the partners but more importantly to learn of their work to end poverty, racism, sexism, domestic abuse, environmental degradation, armed conflict, war and assaults against our neighbors.

The Festival was initiated by the WNY Coalition of Peace, Justice, and Nonviolence Advocates in 2012 based on inspiration from Campaign Nonviolence (CNV). The objective of CNV is to mainstream nonviolence in the life of our communities and world. CNV in 2016 held more than 700 events in the United States and more in 20 other countries. We believe in the transformative power of nonviolence based on respect for the humanity we all share.
