Amanda Martinez is a Toronto-based singer/songwriter whose music blends her unique Mexican and South African roots with flamenco soul. Special Guest Percussionist and Vocalist Wendell Rivera Buffalo Music Hall of Famer class of 2000   Showtime is 7:30PM.

This Toronto-based singer/songwriter's music blends her unique Mexican and South African roots with flamenco soul. Joining Martinez on stage is renowned Buffalo percussionist Wendell Rivera.

GRAMMY Award winning producer Javier Limón hails Martinez as “one of the greatest voices in the world.” Martinez released her third album, Mañana, last year as a follow up to 2006’s Sola and 2009’s Amor. She has received three “Latin Jazz Artist of the Year” nominations at Canada’s National Jazz Awards.

Martinez has headlined at the legendary Blue Note jazz club in New York, at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Festivities in South Africa, and at the 2011 PanAmerican Games in Guadalajara. She also headlined a series of concerts during the 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games. Martinez also had the honor of igniting the Pan Am Flame to officially start the Games.

In the media, Martinez is currently hosting PANAMANIA-- a TV series she produces with CBC Sports that highlights Toronto’s cultural scene. Martinez has worked as a radio host (launching Canada’s JAZZFM91 Latin Jazz program), TV personality (BRAVO Arts & Minds, Star TV!) and actress (ReGenesis and Disney’s Life with Derek). She also hosts and co-produces Ingredients for a Good Life to promote Mexico to Canadians.

In 2014, Amanda was awarded Top 10 Most Influential Hispanic Canadians by the Minister of National Revenue. She recently traveled to Namibia, Africa as an ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages, a global organization that helps abandoned and orphaned siblings stay united as families, to care for a family of eight children. A young mother of three, Martinez calls the SOS mission “a cause close to my heart.”

A portion of the proceeds from this event will provide a scholarship through Hispanic United of Buffalo, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation that provides services to the economically disadvantaged.
